About Fernanda

My goal is to inspire.

My greatest joy is using my teaching skills, technical training and choreography

to help people of all ages and levels discover their own abilities.

My job is to make everyone look good, and I love my job!

Dance is my passion.

I’ve felt this since I was a child in Ecuador, where people of all ages dance in the streets, moving to rhythms old and new, their happiness contagious. Hot music and cool moves keep me dancing for fun, health, and fitness.

I believe talent is one component of success, but hard work is the biggest requirement.

All dreams can come true if you work hard and stay focused.

More About Fernanda

I earned a BA in International Business from UTE University, Ecuador, and performed there with the Falcons Dance Academy. Over the last decade, in the USA, I’ve studied with Bay Area dance teachers in both private and group classes, including Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Dance Mission, and Roco Dance. I’ve also enjoyed training & performing with well-known dance companies such as Salsamania, Jas Dance, ODC, Dance Mission, Yamulee Ladies, The Latin Symbolics, Island Touch, among others.

I co-founded San Rafael dance and fitness studio, Fit2Day, in 2014.

In 2017, I founded Cedeno Dance Company – multiple, ongoing dance team opportunities for people who love to dance, honor their skills and perform.  As both an instructor and a dancer, it has always been my dream to encourage people to trust their capabilities and shine on the dance floor with confidence. I’m proud that these amazing teams welcome dancers of all levels and backgrounds to multiple Latin styles. Cedeno Dance has performed at local and national events, including the Reno International Dance Festival, the San Francisco Salsa Festival, the San Francisco SBK Congress, the Las Vegas Salsa Super Congress, the B.I.G Salsa Congress in Texas, The Miami Salsa Congress, among many others.

In 2018, I also founded Fernanda Dance & Fitness Studio – A community place where we support each other in the fostering of our creativity both in this space and throughout the community.

I graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College with an AA in Arts and Dance in 2018.

My young daughter is very inspired and loves singing and dancing salsa and hip hop. As she grows in strength and confidence, she confirms my faith in the power of movement. I do my best to model other good values for her too: Honesty. Respect. Kindness. I remind her that life is not a competition, and that true happiness lies in doing our best.

I believe talent is one component of success, but hard work is the biggest requirement.

All dreams can come true if you work hard and stay focused.
